Hello my name is Hannah Saunders, I am 19 years old and I am a transfer student. During my Junior year of high school I started taking cosmetology classes through Gaston College( Lincoln campus). I took these classes all my Junior and Senior year of high school, after I graduated high school; I had to continue taking classes for a summer and fall semester. For students to become a fully licensed cosmetologist you have to have 1,500 hours and so many different styles, perms, colors, haircuts, etc. Even after graduating you only get a temporary license for up to six months, because you have two more tests to pass before becoming fully licensed. State board, broken down into a written and a hands on test, to show you know how to be sanitary and safe. On December 22nd , 2016 I graduated from two long years of cosmetology school and on January 19th, 2017 I became a fully licensed cosmetologist. I immediately got a job in a salon and have now been working in that salon for a little over a year. 🙂
